Gen Z's Timeline
Growing up with technology, Gen Z is the first generation to have constant access to the internet and social media from a young age, shaping their communication, learning, and social interactions.
Gen Z is the most racially and ethnically diverse generation in history, valuing inclusivity and social justice, which shapes their perspectives on issues such as race, gender, and identity. Almost 50% of us are of color and over 25% of us identify as LBGTQ+.
This generation is known for their passion for activism, often using social media platforms to organize, raise awareness, and advocate for causes like climate change, gun control, reproductive rights and racial equality.
Gen Z places a strong emphasis on mental health, openly discussing the importance of mental health and advocating for better resources and support systems in schools and workplaces.
Having witnessed economic uncertainty and social upheaval, Gen Z tends to approach their futures with a pragmatic mindset, prioritizing financial stability and realistic career paths – but with an awareness of the importance of balancing work and family.
This fall, Gen Z numbers over 41 million new potential voters – with some 8 million potential first time voters – that is, Gen Zers who weren’t old enough to vote in the last Presidential election in 2020. We now have the political power, if we vote at the rate of older generations, to shape and change America’s future for the better.
